"Written in memory of a beloved school secretary in a small school in Texas. She was a strong Christian, very patriotic, and a strong proponent of the High School Band. She herself was an All-State clarinet player - the highlighted instrument of the piece. Using two tunes, "O the Deep, Deep Love of Jesus" and "My Country 'Tis of Thee," this piece for young band is a moving tribute that begins in a mournful tone that evolves into hope!”
